OVERVIEW: As a former business owner of an global power equipment trader, Worldwide Power Products, I am familiar with websites that offer equipment listing services similar to eBay but focused on industrial equipment and heavy machinery. Now with my role as a provider of marketing and technology services to other companies in the industrial equipment space, I wanted to do some due diligence on the online equipment trading websites so that I am more informed when advising where my customers should allocate online marketing spend. In my research, I uncovered some expected results and some fascinating surprises.
The analysis was completed in September 2016 using a proprietary search analysis tool that LUM.NET licenses from Semrush, a respected analytical tool in the search engine optimization (SEO) industry.
INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT TRADING WEBSITE RANKING CRITERIA:
Each of the above data sets were considered evenly for overall ranking except for one. Our ranking puts heavy value on total visits per month. Total visits from search engines is the end goal, and thus we give the most weight to this datapoint. The other data points feed total visits but are also valuable for evaluation themselves as each shows a level of effort exerted toward that end game of search engine traffic.
Now, let’s get on with the rankings…
|Site||# Visits/Month||SEMRush Rank||Reverse Rank||# of Keywords||Traffic Cost||Paid Traffic||Paid Keywords||CPC Spend||Cost per click||Total Backlinks||Backink Domains||Overall Rank|
